- THE GIRL'S BEDROOM-this is arguably one of the most crucial locations in the video. This is where the 'real' girl makes the transformation to 'fake' girl. The room I plan to use is easily recognised as a rather feminine room, this will fit well because in the video it is the 'real' girl's bedroom. So it works well for the opposite of her real self to occur in that room.
- A STAIRCASE-the staircase is a piece of set that both the 'fake' and 'real' girl will use. She will run up the stairs as the 'real' girl in an emotional state having just broken up with her boyfriend and then after the transition into the other side of her she walks down them as the 'fake' girl.
- THE STREET-the 'fake girl' will be doing aggressive dancing in the middle of a street/road. This will be done for a number of reasons, firstly, dancing in the middle of a busy road is not the normal thing that people do. It suggests that she is not at all concerned of any potential traffic. On the road I plan to use, the road is surrounded by nature and greenery, but the 'fake' girl will be stood on the black road but the rest of the frame will be surrounded by green-this could suggest that everything around her is peaceful and tranquil but in her world everything is dark and evil.
- A FIELD-a lot of running and other acts occur in a field, there isn't so much reasoning behind this, it suggests that she's ended up in a random place but doesn't care. I wanted to use a large wide area to film a large dance aspect of the video. The field I plan to use has a public footpath that runs through the middle of a farmer's field. Both sides of the footpath is symmetrical which I think will be visually pleasing in this part of the video. There will also be a good level of contrast in regards to costume and location. The girl will be wearing a style of outfit that would not normally be expected to be worn in a field.
- A HILL-the hill on which the girl stands on and rolls down. This location would be a place for the 'fake girl' to use. The hill I will use is rather high, this would suggest that she is 'on top of the world' and that she is superior to everyone due to her being higher up than anyone else. It also gives the opportunity for her to shout powerful lyrics as she is at a high point.
- AN ABANDONED HOUSE- near where I live there is an abandoned house that is filled with rubble. The house hasn't been lived in for years and is on the bank of the River Humber. It is filled with debris from the parts of the house that has fallen down. I like the idea of the 'real girl' stood in it or should it not be safe to be stood within the wreck then in front of it. This would be a metaphorical figure to represent her broken heart and will hopefully make it clear to the audience that she actually is not dealing well with the break up that has occurred. I got this idea from the recent release of Miley Cyrus' video to her new single 'Wrecking Ball', in the video she is visibly upset and then proceeds to knock down concrete walls and also uses a wrecking ball to continue this. She lays down in the rubble, this suggests that her heart and world around her is completely broken.
- A CAR AREA-the area in the girl smashes up her ex-boyfriend's car. The idea behind this is that the 'fake girl' will enter the frame where a reasonably old looking car is also present. She will then proceed to use a hammer to smash the windscreen powerfully (again a reference to the smashing that occurs in Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' video.) Although it will not be made obvious that the car in question is not her ex-boyfriend's car, the car I plan to use is a reasonably sporty/manly looking car, and it is not crucial for the audience to know this. The girl smashing up the car will be revenge for how she has been treated by him and will symbolically mirror how he broke her heart.
