Music Video Focus Group

I carried out a focus group with some of my classmates, I ensured that the three people I asked fit into three different stereotypical types of people (one fits into the general female teenager style, another fits into a more 'punk/rock and roll' look, whilst the other falls into the normal male teenager category) I felt this was important so I could therefore receive information from as many categories as possible. I asked as many questions as I could, and made sure that I was careful about what I was asking (I only asked questions that I required the answer to.) I was rather happy with the answers I received, I asked at one point what they would expect in an electro-pop music video. To which they responded that they would expect a party atmosphere, many teenagers dancing around and perhaps consuming alcoholic beverages. I agree with their answers as their points are supported by my research I carried out in the past. This does not match my plans for my music video (I don't plan to involve many teenagers dancing around and drinking etc) and I am glad, I would like to break conventions when I present my music video to the public. 'I Love It' is a popular song and everyone expects a party video upon hearing it, so I would like to shock the audience when the realise this is not the case and the video involves a different narrative to the expected.
